Manual Handling


Every day, we are doing manual handling whether we realise it or not. From lifting a mobile phone to moving a completed product off an assembly line by hand. it's all a form of manual handling.


This one day course is designed to provide the appropriate knowledge and practical skills to have someone be able to perform manual handling tasks in a safe manner. This course also provides the attendees and their organisation compliance in line with the Health and safety Authority.

Course Outline


  • Legislative requirements for manual handling and health benefit
  • Anatomy and back care
  • Ergonomic principles and manual handling risk assessment
  • Manual handling principles and techniques

Course Delivery

  • The course will be taught through classroom-style presentations and practical demonstrations.


Course Length

  • 3 hours.


Course Size

  • Maximum of 12 students for every instructor.


Cost

  • €40 per person.


Location

  • Course can be delivered at a PTAS training site or at a location of the client's choosing.


Certification

  • Participants receive a PTAS Manual Handling Certificate valid for 3 years.
